LB life quirks

Авидан, известный мастер русского языка (см. заметку ), недавно помогал маме на кухне - нечастое, но всё же случающееся явление. Меня не было дома, а когда я вернулся, он с годостью сообщил, что делал сорняки . Только после долгих объяснений я понял, что речь идёт о сырниках , которые были вполне на уровне. Вот так - оказывается и сорняки можно кушать...

The day has come - the day when one of my kids prepared and served the lunch for the whole family. There are quite a few days ago we were talking on the matter of Shavit getting some experience in kitchen business - not like his father, i.e. me. I really do want him - and Avidan - to be able to care to himself including preparing some food. A year or more ago we even bought a book by Ruth Sirkis "Kids cook" (Hebrew version can be found at the site ). Indeed, Shavit cooked by this lovely book.

My kids got to do an English project at school for Passover holiday: choose one of the famous rock pieces, list the lyrics, translate to Hebrew, find info on musicians etc. Needless to say, they used all possible computer and Internet resources to get this stuff done - no intervention on my side. Funny thing - they both chose British, not American rock classics, no Beyonce or Eminem. Avidan picked "We are the champions" from Queen's repertoire. Shavit selected "Another brick in the wall" by Pink Floyd. Dad's influence? I must admit I love both groups and listen to their recordings pretty frequently.
